Welcome, and thank you for visiting our new website for Our Parish Community of Holy Name of Mary, St. Charles Borromeo & St. Vincent de Paul Churches. We hope that our website provides helpful information regarding weekend & weekday masses, our bulletin, Sacramental information, upcoming Parish events as well as other additional information which maybe useful to our website visitors.

Mission Statement 

We, the Parish Family of Holy Name of Mary, St. Charles Borromeo & St. Vincent de Paul Churches, believe that our Mission as faithful Roman Catholics is to present the Image or Our Lord to all that he brings to us in this life.

 In doing so, we are answering the call, placed before us through the Sacrament of Baptism, to be Missionary Disciples of Christ in this community and as a result assist others in developing a personal relationship with Our Loving and Merciful God.

Change to Confession Times 

With things continuing to return more to normal, I wanted to draw your attention to an updated Confession schedule.  I will be cancelling Saturday afternoon Confessions from 2:30-3:30, and instead will be available: 

- On Saturday evenings starting at 4:30pm, in the Confessional at Saint Vincent de Paul Church  

- On Sunday mornings starting at 8:15am, in the Confessional at Holy Name of Mary Church 

- In the sacristy 30 minutes before each weekday Mass. 

If you would like to go to Confession but these times do not work for you, please call the office

Helping Hands Food Bank -  Since school has returned the food bank is in need of any items that would be suitable for kid's lunches. We also could use crackers, puddings, sugar, black tea and instant coffee.  Personal products are always welcome, especially hair shampoo.   Currently we are also providing two fresh vegetables and eggs to our families each month. Therefore any financial assistance would be more than welcomed. Your continued support is appreciated.

Pilgrimage of Peace to Medjugorje - March 9 - 20th, 2023

Accompanied by Father Francis Zambon.  With services of a knowledgeable guide, talks by Medjugorje Franciscan priests, Mirjana’s March 18th apparition; and talks by visionaries when available. 

Travel: Departing from Pearson International Airport Toronto, Lufthansa economy class flight to Sarajevo, and a private motor coach to Medjugorje.

Accommodations: Private home, a five-minute walk from St. James Church. Rooms are double occupancy. Single room available at an additional fee. 3-piece bathrooms in each room. Two    home-cooked meals per day, breakfast and dinner.

Price: $2,450 (includes all taxes), with a non-refundable deposit of $250.  Final payment is required 60 days prior to departure. Full name as shown on your passport, and date of birth.

“Life Chain” is happening this year on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 2-3pm on Dundas St. W. from Mary St. to Holden St. at the intersection of Bay Bridge Rd. in Belleville.  Please join us to prayerfully witness to the sanctity of life.  Let your pro-life light shine.  A variety of signs will be provided.

 

World Youth Day CCCB Info Session - September 27th, 2022; 7:00 pm  Isabel Correa, CCCB National WYD Coordinator, is hosting a WYD information session for anyone interested from the dioceses, including associations and movements, on 27 September 2022 at 7 p.m. EDT on Zoom. Pope Francis’s Message for the 37th World Youth Day (WYD) has been published. The theme of the upcoming WYD is “Mary arose and went with haste” (Lk 1:39). The Message is available in various languages, including English and French, on the following websites:

Finding God in All Things - Tuesday, Sept. 27 - Nov. 1, 2022; 7-9pm  Francis J. Spence Pastoral Centre, Room A (390 Palace Road Kingston, ON)  A six-week program on prayer based on the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola.  Weekly sessions will explore the teachings and practices and how to apply Ignatian Spirituality in our daily lives. This is a free event, but please register by Sept. 22, 2022 .

St. Joseph’s School of Nursing Alumnae Annual Meeting - The annual meeting of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing Alumnae will be held on Tues., Oct. 4, at 10am at the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home, 435 Davis Drive.

The Holy Mass of Consecration to the Ordo Virginum of Holly Ann Garnett - October 1st, 2022; 2:00 pm.  Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception (279 Johnston Street, Kingston) - With heavenly and earthly exultation,  the Military Ordinariate of Canada invites you to attend The Holy Mass of Consecration to the Ordo Virginum of Holly Ann Garnett at the hands of the Most Reverend Scott McCaig, CC, Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Canada.  On the Feast of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face.

 

Annual Women’s Fall Retreat - Sat., Oct.15, 2022, from 8:45 am - 3:30 pm.  The Women’s Fall Retreat team is hosting a one-day hybrid retreat, both in person and online via Zoom. The retreat will be held at Heritage Hall on the grounds of the Kemptville Campus, 820 Heritage Dr., Kemptville, ON. 13th . Women of all ages are invited to participate. Keynote speaker Beverly Illauq will present three talks relating to Luke 18:1: “Pray always: Do not lose heart.” Day begins with Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Brian McNally, and includes keynote presentations, discussion groups, music and delicious buffet lunch for those attending in person. Knights of Columbus Charter Centennial Anniversary Celebration Mass and Dinner.  A hundred years ago, in 1922, J.V. Cleary Assemble 0857 received the Knights of Columbus charter. Everyone is invited to attend the Celebration Mass on Oct. 22, at 5pm at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kingston.  A banquet dinner will be held afterward, and all attendees must pre-book. Dinner is from 6 pm-9 pm at Our Lady of Fatima Parish Hall (588 Division Street, Kingston, ON). Tickets are $50/person.
