Welcome, and thank you for visiting our new website for Our Parish Community of Holy Name of Mary, St. Charles Borromeo & St. Vincent de Paul Churches. We hope that our website provides helpful information regarding weekend & weekday masses, our bulletin, Sacramental information, upcoming Parish events as well as other additional information which maybe useful to our website visitors.

Mission Statement 

We, the Parish Family of Holy Name of Mary, St. Charles Borromeo & St. Vincent de Paul Churches, believe that our Mission as faithful Roman Catholics is to present the Image or Our Lord to all that he brings to us in this life.

 In doing so, we are answering the call, placed before us through the Sacrament of Baptism, to be Missionary Disciples of Christ in this community and as a result assist others in developing a personal relationship with Our Loving and Merciful God.

Confession Times 

Confession schedule:   

- On Saturday evenings starting at 4:30pm, in the Confessional at Saint Vincent de Paul Church  

- On Sunday mornings starting at 8:15am, in the Confessional at Holy Name of Mary Church 

- In the sacristy 30 minutes before each weekday Mass.

╬Visit of the Relic of Saint Andre Bessette (Brother Andre of Montreal) - Saint Michael the Archangel Church, Belleville on Sunday, December 11 at 3:00pm.  Holy Hour with talk on the life of Saint Andre, veneration of relic, and anointing with the oil of St. Joseph.

Nativity Exhibition at St. Paul the Apostle - Thursday, December 15th, and Friday, December 16th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.  A Nativity Exhibition will be featured once again this year in the parish hall of St. Paul the Apostle, Kingston. Visitors are welcome to view the displays which include elements of the Vella collection of nativities Thursday, December 15th, and Friday, December 16th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm as well as the evening of the 15th from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Nativity displays and pageants within the parish communities across the Archdiocese throughout the Christmas season provide opportunities for people of all ages to experience the wonder of the magnitude of God’s love for us made visiblein the Crib.

Helping Hands Food Bank -  

Once again this Christmas the foodbank is making an appeal for financial donations towards the Deseronto Christmas Sharing. This program provides extra food  for the foodbank clients to enjoy a Christmas dinner  with extra trimmings. All donations enable the foodbank to purchase the extra food items needed to provide a   Christmas dinner to those who are in need. Donations can be placed in an envelope marked Deseronto     Christmas Sharing. The envelopes can then be placed into the collection baskets in the church. The volunteers of the food bank wish all of you a Merry Christmas and thank you for all your support, currently and throughout the year.

Schedules for Lectors & Eucharistic Ministers for Jan - June, 2023, are currently being prepared.  If you would like to have your name added or removed from the schedules, please contact the Parish Office by Dec. 14, 2022.

╬Christmas Flowers - If you would like to donate toward our flowers for the Christmas season and throughout the year, and if you would like your donation in memory of someone, please indicate so on an envelope, along with your name and regular envelope #.  These names will appear in our Christmas bulletin. The Deadline for donations, is Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

 

╬2023 Church Collection Envelopes –. If you are currently not an envelope user and would like to be, please  contact the Parish Office 613-396-2846 or place a note with your mailing information, phone number and the church you wish your donation to go to, in the collection basket.  A tax receipt will be given for all recorded donations.  Any offering envelope money   received after December 31, 2022, will be credited to your 2023 tax receipt.  Thank you.

CWL News:

Marysville CWL Christmas lunch will be Sat. Dec. 17th at noon at the O’Connor House English Tea Room, 369 Main Street, Deseronto, ON.  Signup sheets are at the back of both Deseronto and Marysville churches. All ladies of the parishes are welcome. Please sign up by the weekend of Dec 10th/11th or call Julie Murphy (613)920-5363 to add your name to the list.  In lieu of a gift exchange, please bring a food bank item or offering. St. Charles CWL Members: Raffle tickets that you have been asked to sell, please return ticket stubs & money a.s.a.p. Draw takes place Dec. 11th. They can be returned to Sharon Whalen (613-396-3122); Linda Walsh (613-396-1157; or Pat Maloney (613-396-2137).

 

Grace Inn in Belleville will happily take donations of the following winter items that you’re looking to get rid of;  Adult Winter coats; Adult Winter boots; Adult winter hats; Adult Winter mitts/glove; Adult socks; Adult underwear; Warm blankets.  Grace Inn is in desperate need of men's winter apparel & clothes.  A box will also will  be located at the back of Holy Name of Mary church. St. Mary Catholic School, Read Christmas Shopping (All proceeds go back to the School).  We are looking for gently used or new donations for our Christmas sale.  Our students will purchase items for their Families.  We are looking for: Men’s, Women, Teen, Children’s and Household items.  Donations can be dropped off at the School, 1285 Read Rd. from 10am – 12pm & 1:30-3pm.  Starting  immediately until Dec. 13, 2022.  Thank you from your St. Mary Catholic School Council.

Pilgrimage of Peace to Medjugorje - March 9 - 20th, 2023

Accompanied by Father Francis Zambon.  With services of a knowledgeable guide, talks by Medjugorje Franciscan priests, Mirjana’s March 18th apparition; and talks by visionaries when available. 

Travel: Departing from Pearson International Airport Toronto, Lufthansa economy class flight to Sarajevo, and a private motor coach to Medjugorje.

Accommodations: Private home, a five-minute walk from St. James Church. Rooms are double occupancy. Single room available at an additional fee. 3-piece bathrooms in each room. Two    home-cooked meals per day, breakfast and dinner.

Price: $2,450 (includes all taxes), with a non-refundable deposit of $250.  Final payment is required 60 days prior to departure. Full name as shown on your passport, and date of birth.

St. Mary’s Drop-In Centre Looking for Volunteers - 260 Brock St Kingston.  We need your help with staffing shifts, collecting/organizing donations, working at our Community Garden, and fundraising.  Our guests regard the church as a safe haven .Drop-In Centre and to provide pastoral care to our guests. Christmas Concert – Thurs. Dec. 15, 2022; 1 - 3pm - St. Joseph Parish (392 Palace Road, Kingston) You are invited to an afternoon of Christmas music, featuring the local talent of Chris Murphy, Jon McLurg and Noah St. Amand, (of the band, Turpin’s Trail) in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 392 Palace Road, Kingston. Join us, bring a friend, or two, and enjoy two hours of music and fellowship.  Refreshments will be served in the parish hall; a free-will offering would be gratefully appreciated.  A great way to get in the Christmas spirit!

 

Regiopolis-Notre Dame Catholic High School Musical Production: The Addams Family - Dec. 15-17, 2022; 7:00pm; Matinee Dec. 17, 1:00 pm.  130 Russell Street, Kingston, ON.  Regiopolis-Notre Dame is proud to present this year’s musical production of The Addams Family. Boasting a cast of 35 students, 14 band members, and 9 crew members, staff and community members have been working very hard with them since September to bring you another fun-filled performance. There are three evening shows from December 15-17, and one afternoon matinee on December 17.  Tickets can be bought online by visiting www.reginotredame.ca.
